I always forget how easy these are to make and what a stunning presentation they are to guests. Not only just a breakfast entree, you can put any type of filling or condiment in these after they bake such as cheese, maple syrup, baked apples, etc. Personally, I think they are best for breakfast served with lots of powdered sugar and lemon juice. Easier to make than pancakes!
Ingredients
Method
- Pre-heat oven to 425ºF.
- Beat eggs in a medium mixing bowl.
- Stir in the milk with the eggs.
- Sift the flour, salt, and nutmeg into the milk and eggs incorporating as you go.
- Melt the butter in a 9-inch glass pie plate in the pre-heated oven.
- Remove the pie plate and distribute the melted butter. Pour in the batter. Do NOT stir!
- Place the pie plate back into the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool briefly. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar and lemon juice.
Enjoy immediately!
